leahy, i want a bill to come out of the committee. if dianne feinstein by the time it's through the judiciary committee, if she doesn't have her assault weapons, at least let her have an opportunity to offer this amendment. >> will you vote for it? >> oh,i don't know. frankly, and she knows, i haven't read her amendment. i didn't vote for the assault weapons last time because it didn't make sense. but i'll take a look at it. >> mayor, is senator reid doing enough to move this legislation? >> i believe he should read the amendment and listen to a former mayor, dianne feinstein, who stuck her finger in a bullet hole at a scene of a crime. that's what we see as mayors. in washington assault ban weapon, it's a political issue. here is how it sounds to me. my daughter will be teaching school next year. if somebody is in the horrible situation of shooting in that classroom, and they're forced to reload the gun, that may be my daughter's life, that may be your child's life. force people to reload. my god, if we can't do that, it's horrible enough about what is happening out here. stop
